Sarey is a filmmaker and storyteller with roots in Los Angeles and Portland, OR. Sarey's debut short, "Father Mary," played festivals and won awards in 2022. She’s previously been a finalist in Disney’s Launchpad program and Sundance’s Episodic Lab. She also spent 10 years on the production and management team for Rob Zombie and collaborated on films with partners like Blumhouse, Anchor Bay, and Dimension before deciding to focus on her own work. She is passionate about elevating femme voices, particularly in genre filmmaking - having been inspired by auteurs like Cronenberg, Lynch, and Jarmusch. She is also an advocate for the mental health of artists, a positive culture shift in the entertainment industry. She’s an active member of the PDX film community and the local chapter of Women in Film.
